My Holy Grail

Baby
it's amazing,
this maze I'm lost in with you.
Twists of tenderness,
walls of silence I can't break through.

I trace the lines of your moods
like sacred glyphs,
but I can’t crack your code.

One dawn, you scream
love into the sky
a wild hymn,
echoing louder than thunder.
By dusk, you're frost and fog,
your eyes turned distant,
as if I’d never stood in your sun.

One day you're here,
a warmth I could drink.
The next—gone.
One day you care,
the next you disappear.

Unfair,
this push and pull
of a love that's more war than waltz.

Still, I sip from your chalice,
greedy for the taste
until it spills
until it drowns me.
A sacred overflow,
a poisoned grace—
my own Holy Grail.
